The Groove Revival

Anthony Avila is a songwriter and vocalist whose musical journey began in Central California, where his passion for music took root at an early age. A proud Portuguese-American, Avila developed his distinctive voice through years of songwriting, recording, and performing.

As the lead singer and songwriter of a band he founded, Avila recorded two albums, channeling his creative vision and powerful vocal style into every performance. His journey eventually took him from California’s Central Valley to the Los Angeles music scene, where he continues to write and record music with Sound Select Studios in Long Island, New York.

Avila has also collaborated with acclaimed Motown producer Willie Hutch, whose legendary credits include “I’ll Be There” with Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5. His body of work includes two albums, a five-track EP, and numerous singles, with his music also appearing in film, including Buddy Hutchins, starring Jamie Kennedy.

A three-time International Portuguese Music Award nominee in 2014, 2015, and 2016, Avila brings a lifetime of songwriting experience, vocal power, and emotional connection to The Groove Revival. His voice provides the front-line energy that drives the band's sound and connects its music directly with the audience.

Los Angeles–based guitarist, songwriter, and producer Nima Farahani brings decades of professional experience to The Groove Revival. His career began in the late 1980s and has taken him through years of touring, recording, songwriting, production, and collaboration at the highest levels of the music industry.

Farahani has developed and fronted multiple original bands, three of which secured major-label deals with Geffen Records, A&M Records, and Virgin Records. His A&M signing followed a competitive industry bidding war, marking a significant chapter in his career. During the 1990s, he was recognized four times as “Guitar Player of the Year.”

Throughout his career, Farahani has worked alongside legendary producers including Richard Perry, whose credits include Carly Simon, Rod Stewart, and Ringo Starr, as well as Roy Thomas Baker, whose production legacy includes Queen, The Cars, Journey, Foreigner, and Ozzy Osbourne.

He has also been represented by prominent music-industry figures including Doug Goldstein, known for his work with Guns N’ Roses, and Andy Gould, whose management and production credits include Megadeth, Rob Zombie, and Eagles of Death Metal.

With a reputation built on tone, feel, musicianship, and years of experience on the road and in the studio, Farahani brings a seasoned rock-guitar sensibility to The Groove Revival—combining classic influences with a modern, unmistakably personal sound.

Lu Marano is an accomplished Brazilian musician, producer, and composer whose career has taken him across Brazil, Latin America, and Europe. His international experience and broad musical background bring a distinctive perspective to The Groove Revival’s rhythm section.

Marano has recorded with notable figures in the music industry, including Roy Cicala, and has performed on significant international stages and events, including the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Now based in Los Angeles, Marano combines his international musical background with a deep understanding of groove, arrangement, production, and performance. His playing provides an essential foundation for the band’s rhythm-driven sound, helping create the pocket and movement that define The Groove Revival.

Lance Crane is the drummer for The Groove Revival, bringing power, precision, musicality, and a deep-rooted country-rock groove to the band.

Crane began playing drums at the age of five in New York before eventually relocating to Los Angeles to pursue a professional music career. Over the years, he has performed with acclaimed artists including Frank Gambale, Scott Henderson, and Eric Marienthal, while also studying with renowned drummer Gregg Bissonette.

His accomplishments extend beyond performance. Crane was recognized as Producer of the Year at the LA Music Awards and competed in the Extreme Sports Network’s Fastest Drummer competition, reflecting both his technical ability and his versatility as a musician and producer.

Behind The Groove Revival, Crane provides the heartbeat of the band—anchoring the music with a combination of power, precision, pocket, and instinctive feel.
